Esteban Solis has selected Desert Oak Barbecue as the best BBQ in his Tour of Texas. Solis tried barbecue during his visits to Corpus Christi, Rio Grande Valley, Abilene, Beaumont, El Paso and even his home town of San Antonio. Desert Oak owners Richard and Suzanne Funk were surprised with a trophy during the live broadcast on Monday. Steady heat and post oak from central Texas are used to cook the meats for no less than 12 hours.
