Topo Chico running low across Texas

AUSTIN -- Another popular item running slim on the shelves is a local favorite -- Topo Chico.

That's according to NBC affiliate, KXAN.

The station says a Topo Chico spokesperson said they are experiencing a tight stock due to “extremely strong consumer demand” combined with “a shortage of raw materials.”

“We’re working hard and implementing contingency plans to keep the products people love on shelves during this temporary shortage,” the company told KXAN.

The company could not say what specific materials they were running short on.

Locals say during their recent trip to the store, they couldn't find cases of the sparkling water and had to resort to buying individual bottles.

It's unclear if the shortage is limited to sparkling water or will impact the availability of their hard seltzer launched earlier this year.
