In honor of National Churro Day on June 6, Kit Kat is launching a new flavor. The Kit Kat Churro is inspired by the deep-fried pastry coated in cinnamon sugar that’s popular here in San Antonio and across Spain and Mexico.
Imagine pairing that churro taste with the crunch of a Kit Kat bar – sound good?
This new Kit Kat flavor is an homage to “the beloved dessert that brings back memories of summer at the amusement park, state fair, or boardwalk stand no matter where you are in the world.”
Kit Kat Churro features buttery churro-flavored creme with sugar mixed between the infamous favorite wafers – and will be available widely by June 6. Kit Kat Churro will be available in standard, king, and snack size.
The Kit Kat Churro joins the list of other limited-edition flavors -- including Kit Kat Fruity Cereal, Kit Kat Blueberry Muffin, Kit Kat Birthday Cake, Kit Kat Lemon Crisp, and more.
"We love seeing fan's responses to our limited-edition Kit Kat flavors – especially one as universally loved as churros," said Alex Herzog from Kit Kat.
No word on how long the churro flavor will stay on shelves, but if you like them, stock up just in case.
While there is no direct connection between San Antonio and Kit Kat, the city is home to a historic nightclub that shares the same name. The Kit Kat Club was a popular spot for dancing, dining, and socializing in the 1940s and 1950s. The club was owned by Richard Jefferson “Dick” Jones, the father of serial killer Genene Jones. The club closed in 1965 and was later demolished.
