Deep-fried pho, chocolate-covered cheesecake earn Texas State Fair favorites awards

DALLAS- The judges have filled up on samples and finally came up with a batch of winners of their favorite fair foods during the 2023 Big Tex Choice Awards.

The winners, which were announced on Sunday, cover a full range of tantalizing fair favorites.

Michelle Le won Best Taste-Savory, with her deep fried pho. Michelle brought a southern flare to a popular traditional Vietnamese dish. In every bite you get a taste of noodles, beef, fresh herbs and a taste of pho broth.

Stephen El Gidi won Best Taste- Sweet, with a classic New York- style cheesecake coated with Belgian chocolate. The cheesecake is covered with crushed Biscoff cookies and topped with a Lotus Biscoff spread.

Cody and Lauren Hays won Most Creative, with a delicious sopapillas topped with vanilla-caramel- infused bananas, bourbon syrup, crushed pecans, mascarpone cheese, crumbled Nilla Wafers and dusted with powdered Sugar.
