SAN ANTONIO – Fine wine, delicious bites, and an inviting atmosphere, that is what you will find at High Street Wine Co.
Located in The Pearl, High Street Wine Co is a local wine bar that has elevated San Antonio’s wine culture and is the latest feature in our series “San Antonio Nightlife.”
Walking up from the inner Pearl area, the establishment can be found with towering windows and rustic pipes, giving a very steampunk architecture. The flooring on the inside is rich, the ceilings are tall, and there is excessive seating both inside and outside. It’s not often you find places that are big enough to accommodate while keeping a comfortable and cozy atmosphere.
The restaurant offers a massive variety of wines, each hand-picked by their ordering manager, Austin Tabbone, an advanced Sommelier. Tabbone has spent the better part of the last decade learning about wine. Each bottle he chooses is catered towards a specific taste.
High Street Wine Co’s drink menu boasts 21 pages of various kinds of food, wine, ciders, and non-alcoholic beverages. With so many options available, they offer a highly popular wine flight, including three wines of your choice (or make it fun and have a server pick them out). Their food is as eloquent as the wine choice, with prime charcuterie, mouth-watering flatbreads, and savory seafood.
They offer a “Wine Club,” where customers will receive two specialty-curated wines per month, 15% off all purchases, a special invite to members-only tastings, and an education on their monthly curated wines. They also offer wine classes twice a month, specializing in specific types of wine or regions. At the month's end, High Street is offering multiple Halloween-inspired events, including Orange Wines for Fall wine tasting and pumpkin carving and wine tasting.
Whether you’re enjoying a date night, an afternoon with friends, or a post-brunch hangout, High Street Wine Co is the perfect place to plan your next outing.
High Street Wine Co is open Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday from 4 p.m. to midnight. Friday and Saturday from noon to midnight, and Sunday from noon to 9 p.m. They are closed on Tuesday.
