Poblano Sliders put a flavorful, summer twist on the classic smash burger!

SAN ANTONIO - Chef Brian West stopped by our studio to showcase his Poblano Burger Sliders, just in time for summer BBQ season!

These sliders are a flavorful twist on the classic burger, featuring roasted poblano peppers and a creamy, cheesy topping that adds a smoky kick.

"So this is a really good high grade beef that I like to buy. And buy high grade, you it's an Akiushi style, which is a, you know, kind of inexpensive, but it's worth the money," said Chef West. "I think it does make a difference, doesn't it? It does. And there's also, it's very safe to, you know, cook, eat, like, under your medium rare, which I like, I like a little more of a medium rare style."

Using high-quality beef and a high sear, Chef West is able to keep a good crust on the outside, without overcooking the center of each slider patty.

"These are my favorite little Hawaiian rolls," said chef West. "I just love these things. I love Hawaii, just the right amount of sweetness, really. And also, they're just like a great little snack. So you can just shove anything in there."

Using your favorite Hawaiian-style rolls, adding a couch of Chipotle Mayo, delicious goat Cheese, and a little roasted Poblano Pepper, these sliders are easy to make for a whole crowd, and very easy to eat.

The dish is designed to be both crowd-pleasing and easy to prepare for backyard gatherings. Served with fresh, slightly salted Watermelon with fresh basil, this makes for the perfect summertime dinner, or cookout meal!

"I always tell people when you want to get into burgers and you're inviting guests or try to think a little outside the box," said Chef West. "There are no wrong combinations."
