We sat down with Chris Brundrett from William Chris Vineyards, which was named one of the world's best vineyards in 2023. He shares his top three favorite fall wine pairings...

William Chris Vineyards is located in Hye, Texas, in the heart of the Texas Hill Country. It was founded in 2008 by William "Bill" Blackmon and Chris Brundrett, two winemakers with a shared passion for Texas wine.

Blackmon and Brundrett believe that great wines are not made, but grown. They source their grapes from vineyards all over Texas, and use a variety of winemaking techniques to create wines that are both truly Texan and enjoyable to drink.

William Chris Vineyards produces a wide range of wines, including red blends, white wines, and rosé. Some of their most popular wines include:

Enchanté: A Bordeaux-style blend that is rich and full-bodied, with flavors of black currant, blackberry, and spice.

La Pradera Vineyard Blend: A blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, and Petit Verdot that is elegant and balanced, with flavors of red fruit, herbs, and earth.

Sauvignon Blanc: A crisp and refreshing white wine with aromas of citrus, grapefruit, and tropical fruit.

Rosé: A light and fruity rosé wine with flavors of strawberry, raspberry, and watermelon.

William Chris Vineyards has won numerous awards for its wines, including Best Winery in Texas from Austin Monthly in 2023 and 2022. The winery is also a popular tourist destination, offering tastings, tours, and events throughout the year.

In addition to its Hye winery, William Chris Vineyards also has a tasting room in Fredericksburg, Texas, called Lost Draw Cellars. Lost Draw Cellars is a partnership between William Chris Vineyards and winemaker Andrew Sides.
