2023 Rizz and Freebies

Oxford University press has officially named “rizz” as its 2023 word of the year.

"Rizz" derives from the word “charisma,” and refers to one’s ability to attract or seduce another person. It’s popular with young folk, specifically Gen Z’ers. Runner ups for word of the year include “Swiftie,” “situationship,” and “prompt.”

Kimberly and Xavier criticized their inability to use such terminology alongside youth.

“You have rizz because I pay for it” Xavier called out to his kids.

Rizz isn’t the only thing one has to pay for. For the adults out there, that might come in the form of a wedding ceremony, which costs a pretty penny. To get around that, a young couple traded their Taylor Swift “Eras” tour tickets for a free wedding venue.

The owner of the venue made a TikTok post saying she would trade the venue for “Eras” tickets. So the couple snagged a $5,000 venue in exchange for $900 worth of tickets.

Would you take the deal? Have you come across something better? We’re asking on social media: what is the most unexpected thing you've gotten for free?

How about a free snow plow? Turns out, you can get one! Domino's is donating $500,000 in snow plowing grants for up to 20 cities across America this winter,

“Nothing should come between you and a hot pizza.”

You can go to plowingforpizza.com and enter the name and zip code of your hometown for a chance at a grant. Make sure those snowy roads don't get in the way of your pizza!

Plus, research has found that it’s not your teens’ fault that they’re not listening to you.

A new study found children's brains start tuning out their mom's voice around the age of 13. They found that, just like infants know to tune into what their mother's say, a teen’s brain will choose to ignore their mother's voice. Talk about selective hearing!

Apparently, teens are much more sensitive and attracted to unfamiliar voices. So, if your kids don't listen to you it looks like they can't help it!
