What to Do After a Crash with an 18-Wheeler

A crash can happen at any time, but if you're in one with an 18-wheeler, don't treat it like any other crash. Attorney Henry Wollam from KRW Lawyers was here to tell us what we need to know now that can help us later.

A crash with an 18-wheeler can be even more dangerous than a regular vehicle crash, often leading to disproportionate damage to you and your vehicle.

The first phone call should be to the police. Make sure someone is there to analyze the crash site, ensure everyone is safe, and report anything suspicious. If you are safe and feel able to do so, take video, photos, and ask for evidence from others to ensure you are protected in the legal process.

Next, call an attorney to make sure you get what you deserve from the insurance company. 18-wheelers are heavily insured and legally protected, so it's important to have someone on your side who knows how to navigate the system.

Lastly, prioritize your health. Make appointments, monitor any new symptoms or injuries, and follow up with medical professionals to ensure you’re safe and healthy after the crash.
