As egg prices rise across the country, demand is soaring for a company that helps people get their own egg-laying chickens.

"Rent the Chicken" has locations in Vancouver, Washington, and Portland, but serves areas nationwide.

Co-Founder "Homestead Jenn" said she and her husband hatched the company in 2013. Jenn said her phones have been "ringing like mad" and online inquiries have seen an uptick recently due to egg shortages.

"People want to make sure they have eggs available to them," Jenn told KOMO News. "With Rent the Chicken, they don't have to worry about the price of eggs at the store, they don't have to worry about not having eggs."

Jenn joined ARC Seattle co-anchors Steve McCarron and Tyrah Majors to talk about how the company got its start, the influx in demand for its services, what's included in the rental package, and what the company does to keep birds healthy.
