Frida Fest 2025 Returns to La Villita

Frida Fest 2025 is back at La Villita, honoring the life and legacy of Frida Kahlo and the strength of women everywhere. Janie Villareal McClinchie joined us to share what’s in store for this vibrant celebration.
She brought a preview of the incredible handmade items you’ll find at the event, including crochet dolls, bags, nutcrackers, journals, wood-burned art, jewelry, and of course, flower crowns. Every piece is inspired by Frida and reflects her enduring influence on art and culture.
One of the highlights is the Frida Kahlo look-alike contest, where organizers hope to break the record for the most people dressed as Frida in one place. So grab your flower crown, Mexican blouse, and sarape, and join this family-friendly event that’s full of color, creativity, and community spirit.
