Rapid Fire: needing more energy and looking back
#206PM
According to a new report, the average American hits their daily energy low at 2:06 P.M. And if people had to pick a day for an energy boost, 24% would choose Mondays.
So, that's being called peak "slump time."
On average, people wish they had TWICE their current energy levels. And if they got that boost: 74% of people think they'd be earning more . . . and 18% would prioritize friends and family more. Also: 44% blame a lack of energy for not exercising more . . . and 31% say it limits outdoor activities. If they had to pick one day for an energy boost, 24% would select Mondays . . . 22% would pick Fridays . . . and another 22% would want it on Saturdays when they're OFF work. Agree? When is yours??
#KellyClarkson
Kelly Clarkson is expected to call it quits on her daytime talk show after the current, seventh season.
One source says it's "definite" and another said it's, quote, "likely that it will not go on . . . [Her show] is a lot to put on, and looking at the landscape across daytime television, it's not sustainable anymore. "It's probably worth mentioning that Kelly's contract expires this year. There were rumors last year that she would leave her show, and could be replaced by Hoda Kotb. It wasn't clear at the time, but Kelly had taken a leave of absence to care for her ex-husband during his cancer battle. Does she get another deal somewhere else? or Back to the stage to perform??
#MostInteresting
#BringBack2016 is trending on social media, and Dos Equis is hoping that means commercials from 10 years ago are back in fashion again. Dos Equis is reviving their "Most Interesting Man in the World" ads with the original star, Jonathan Goldsmith.
Jonathan is 87 years old . . . and not only is he still going strong, he still looks incredible. I guess that's yet another reason he's so interesting. The original ad campaign debuted 20 years ago, in 2006. It ran for 10 years, before Jonathan retired in 2016. Dos Equis initially hired a younger successor . . . but that didn't last long. They ended the series two years later, in 2018.
Jonathan has reprised the role in several one-off cameos for other brands. He most recently referenced the gig in an ad for a cryptocurrency firm, where he said, "You know what's interesting these days? Bitcoin. "They aren't just bringing back these ads for fun. Sales of Dos Equis have declined in recent years, so they're hoping this campaign can be a shot in the arm since it was so successful back in the day.
Thoughts?? What other franchises should follow suit? Maybe bring back the where's the beef lady?
