Rapid Fire: Sean Combs documentary and energy conservation
Xavier breaks down this week's Rapid Fire Trending topics!
#DropItLow: The US dept of Energy has officially released a statement in regards to Energy conservation. During the winter, the U.S. Department of Energy says you should set your thermostat to 68 degrees when you're awake. And when you're asleep or out of the house, you should drop it even lower. This will conserve energy and can save you some serious money according to the head honchos over there. Especially since utility bills have climbed more than 41% since 2020. And here's a fun factoid: "The lower the temperature inside your home, the more slowly you'll lose heat." So, keeping the thermostat at lower temperatures can save energy in a few ways. So dumb question... why is that the opposite during summer? Thoughts???
#ImGonnaSue: The trailer for 50 Cent's four-part Netflix documentary about Sean Combs dropped yesterday. The limited series begins streaming today. It's called "Sean Combs: The Reckoning". Curtis "50 Cent" Jackson had cameras on Combs when his arrest and trial were looming. Jackson mentioned on yesterday's "GMA" that Combs "forgot that he was on tape." Lawyers for Sean “Diddy” Combs have sent Netflix a cease-and-desist on the eve of premiere of Sean Combs: The Reckoning, a new four-part documentary about the disgraced hip-hop mogul. attorney, Michael Tremonte, threatened legal action for copyright infringement or possession of stolen property if the series is released as planned on Tuesday. Tremonte’s argument centers on the claim that Netflix approached Combs about creating a documentary in 2023, which he declined due to creative differences. He alleges that Netflix then provided the documentary, along with footage that was allegedly stolen, to Combs’ longtime rival, 50 Cent, who subsequently served as the executive producer. As previewed by 50 Cent and director Alexandria Stapleton during an appearance on Good Morning America on Monday, the documentary features footage of Combs in a New York City hotel room, speaking with his lawyers just days before his arrest. “I am going to let you professionals look at the situation and come back to me with a solution,” he says. “Y’all are not working together the right way. We’re losing.” Should 50 cent and netflix have to pull down the DOC? Are we still interested?
