Home workout tips to save time and money


SAN ANTONIO - It's a growing trend. Since the pandemic, working out at home as become much more popular for those with busy schedules or tight budgets.

Thanks to social media and influencer videos or apps for a small monthly fee, it's never been easier to save commuting time and money.

"I started working out at home when my son was born five years ago," said Hannah Moreno, a San Antonio mom of two.

After ten years of gyms, Hannah found it much easier to keep up with her new mom schedule by starting her day with a home workout. Then during the pandemic when gyms closed for a time, her husband joined her. Now she says she has permanently ditched her gym membership.

"It does take some morning time commitment and getting up early, but that is the only time I'm uninterrupted."

"Do three to five sets and rest in between. Let your heart rate come down. Then go again," Conaway recommends.

He adds resistance bands, medicine balls or light weights for an extra challenge, all of which can be bought a for under $20 Amazon.

Conaway says consistency is key.

And for moms like Moreno, having an accountability partner and a plan the night before is what keeps her consistent.

She says, "I've been doing this the past five years and it's proven effective mentally, emotionally and physically too."
