Margarita Monday: Mix it up at home!


Still celebrating Fiesta at home? In the mood for a "Margarita Monday"? Jennifer Meachum has a treat for YOU! She's trying her hand at some bartending, and showing us how to make a a delicious Skinny Margarita!

Skinny Margarita

-8 ounces of Silver Tequila, good quality
-Juice of 4 small limes
-Juice of 1 orange
-1-2 Tbsp. Agave syrup*, amount added depends on sweetness desired
-Liquid Stevia, optional**
-Ice, Kosher salt, lime and orange wedges for garnish
-4 glasses

Directions:

1.Fill a 2-quart pitcher halfway with ice.

2.Pour in tequila, lime juice, orange juice, agave syrup, and stir.

3.Rub rim of 4 glasses with lime wedge and then dip rim in plate of kosher salt.

4.Fill each glass with ice. Pour margaritas into each glass. Garnish with orange or lime slice.

* Agave syrup contains 60 calories and 15 gm sugar per tablespoon, however it has a low glycemic index.

**Add stevia and reduce agave syrup if you want to decrease sugar in recipe.
