Super snack swaps for game

The biggest game day of the year is just around the corner. The Daytime team is whipping up some satiating food ideas for the most anticipated game of the year.

Here are some helpful tips from Health Marketing Consultant Victoria Bruce:

When heading to the grocery store, pick up Greek yogurt to use for dips. Plain flavor is perfect for savory dips.

Make sure to have plenty of protein on your spread that guests can fill up on, as opposed to empty carbohydrates.

Use a larger bowl for healthy snacks like air-popped popcorn, and a smaller bowl for chips.

Use fruit to infuse mineral water or plain water instead of reaching for the soda pop.

Sample Menu for game day:

Shrimp cocktail with lemon wedges
Low-fat turkey meatballs with sugar-free teriyaki sauce
Lil' smokies with sugar free bbq sauce
Veggie platter with greek yogurt ranch dip (recipe below)
Fruit kabobs with sugar cookie greek yogurt dip (recipe below)
Lightly salted popcorn
