Tequila & Margarita at the Park

On Saturday, Sunland Park Racetrack and Casino is hosting the annual Tequila & Margarita at the Park. The event will run from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. It is free to the public and the cost for samples is $20 for 10 sample tickets, and a souvenir shot glass with every 10 tickets purchased. There will be over 60 different tequilas to sample as well as margaritas to sample. If you can’t wait until Saturday, here is a recipe to try at home.

Pear-Cilantro Margarita Recipe
Ingredients:
1/2 cup Ice
Reposado Tequila
1-ounce pear nectar or juice
1/2-ounce Simple Syrup
1/2-ounce fresh lime juice
1 1/2 teaspoons fresh lemon juice
1/2 teaspoon chopped cilantro
1 cilantro sprig for garnish
Tajin for rimming

Directions:
Fill a cocktail shaker with ice. Combine all the ingredients except the cilantro sprig into a cocktail shaker and shake well (about 30 seconds). Rim your glass then pour the mixture in. Garnish with the cilantro sprig and a pear slice if you like.
